ABOUT

We are on a ridge in the Santa Cruz mountains that separates the Pacific Ocean from Santa Clara Valley and San Francisco Bay. At 2,700 feet, we get several dustings of snow during the winter months and at least one or two snowfalls  that stick around for a few days.  Our winter temperatures can be as much as 20 degrees cooler than the valley cities of San Jose, Los Gatos, and Saratoga. During spring and summer we are often above the clouds. Inversions bring warmth. Our early morning temperatures can be 70 while the valley experiences a chilly 50 degrees.

Deer, turkeys, quail, squirrels, lizards, toads, and  birds are easy to spot throughout the year. Bobcats, mountain lions, foxes, coyotes, and snakes are not as easy to spot, but we have a crittercam to capture their images.

Over more than a decade, we have had merchandise made using this design--specifically hats and t-shirts.
