A Road Makes a Difference

It has been almost 2 months since Skyline Blvd. opened after the washout disasters in February 2017. During that year, I had to drive Black Road to Highway 17, which not only added time to my commute, but lots of driving stress. Some people think Highway 9 is a curvy road. It is, but Black is more so. Black also has one-lane sections and steep drop offs. When it rains, it is typical to have rocks strewn on the road way. Highway 17 is never a joy. Then there were several traffic slow spots during commuting times that could add even more time.

Now I glide along Skyline Blvd in the morning, enjoying the view that opened up when two sections of the mountain slid out. Highway 9 seems almost straight. I can make it from home to work in as little as 32 minutes. Along the way, I often see deer and turkeys. Life is good now that road is repaired!
