Rain, Hail, and Snow

Writer's picture: Camp CougarCamp Cougar

This is an unusual April so far. Today it rained, hailed, and snowed. The temperature in the evening dropped to 39 degrees. In the previous 10 years that we were here, it was typical to get weather in the high 70's. But never snow or hail. This dramatic weather coincides with the silencing of the frogs. For over a month we've been serenaded by the California tree frog chorus. We are not sure whether the weather stopped them, or they've done enough mating for the season. We'll have to see if the frogs start up again when the weather warms.
