The Chasm is, of course, our big focus because without the road, we can't easily get to Saratoga. The Slip Out is between our house and The Chasm. But the engineering to fix it is no less tricky. As you can see from the before and after photos, the crew had to carve away the hilside to allow enough room to divert the road. It appears they are tossing the dirt to the other side to build up a road. They've added a huge culvert and many drain holes to divert water to the culvert. Now they are working on retaining the downhill side. Also note they had to move the power and cable lines. The lines still aren't in place. In some areas the cable is almost on the ground.
