It's a great year for wildflowers. Lupines and lilies are the most prevalent this year, but there are many other varieties including poppies. In the past 15 years, I've tossed out thousands of poppy seeds. Although the number of blooms increase every year, the numbers don't match the seeds. I read that poppy seeds can take up to 10 years to sprout. I suspect that many of the seeds I toss get washed away in the winter rains.
